The goal of the longitudinal cohort study in Uganda is to quantify and characterize of the association between SI use, contraceptive agency, and effective fertility management (relationship between SI and empowerment). To trace SI journeys over time, our team is conducting a 6 month and 12 month follow-up of the baseline sample. Baseline surveys were administered to 2,422 sexually active women of reproductive age in Mayuge and Oyam.
The ICAN Measure of Contraceptive Agency, G-NORM scale, and preference-aligned fertility management index measures will be validated with data from this study.
